TSB Fantasy Beadwork
(formerly known as FabledBead)

The beadwork galleries are broken into 3 categories. Click on each below to view.

The Silver Branch studio started in the back of a bead shop and then moved to a larger space across from it. In those 10 years, it was difficult to resist the shiny, colorful treasures within hand's reach, but eventually Melanie caved and took a class on how to bezel set cabochons inside beadwork using nothing but needle and thread - no glue. From there, she ran with it, beading in the evenings to unwind after sculpting during the day, coming up with fantastical designs that combine her love of fantasy, magic and whimsy with weaving beadwork. Some of her pieces have won awards and placements in various competitions such as Bead Dreams and Interweave Jewelry Competitions. Many of her pieces have been sold to collectors across the country to go on and win those owners awards in costume competitions and masquerade balls.

At one point, Melanie thought it best to showcase her beadwork separate from her sculpting, and promoted them under her Fabled Bead business name. But as her beadwork turned more and more sculptural, keeping them separate was no longer necessary and they are part of The Silver Branch tree now.

Large Pieces

This gallery is dedicated to grand pieces of beadwork that took months to design, bead and complete. All of these pieces have been entered into at least one beading competition and have earned at least one title or placement.

Masquerade

This gallery showcases many of the fantastical masks designed and beaded at TSB. Intricate, wearable art, these masks take about one month to create. Many combine beads with Melanie's claywork to meld both worlds.

Smaller Jewelry Pieces

A gallery dedicated to the original, smaller pieces of beadwork that are no less magical, but are more for day to day wear.
