Thicket of the Wildwood

Picture
Picture
Thicket lives in the wildwood; a place where dark glades glisten under the rarest rays of sunlight, hidden fens whisper your name and rolling meadows sparkle with fireflies in the deep night. Thicket's story is different to each person who chances to view her - what story will she tell you?

You can view more images of Thicket in the 2017-2019 Faeries Gallery page.

Thicket comes ready to stand on a very heavy 12.5" long by 11" tall mopani wood base. As such, she will ship separately from the base to prevent any accidental crushing during mailing. Thicket herself measures roughly 8" tall by 9" wide (including her wings.)

Dionaea - Lady of the Flytraps

Picture
Picture
This Lady of the Flytraps needs no escort to masquerade balls - she brings her own. Personally, I'd like to take a closer look at her amazing wings, but I don't dare get that close. Her gown is made of velvet, silk, lace, satin, clay and tulle with hand painted accents. She was featured on the May 1st segment of WMUR's NH Chronicle!

Dionaea is hand sculpted (of course!) She measures 9 inches wide (from flytrap to flytrap) and 10" tall to the tip of her wings.

Hiccup

Picture
Picture
We're not certain if his mother meant to name him this, or if she happened to hiccup when the naming ceremony arrived – either way, Hiccup grew up to be a rather ardent guardian of the wildwood who doesn't like to be teased about his name. His grapple plant spikes are not something to joke about.

Hiccup measures about 7" tall by 4" wide. This sculpture is made with wood, dried grapple plant, rambutan husk, polymer clay, acetate, copper, hematite, cotton, ostrich feathers, acrylic, linen, wool, dried moss. For more images of Hiccup - please visit the Faery Gallery.

Shaelin's Sacred Pool

Picture
Picture
Picture
Shaelin pours 'water,' glass bubbles and beads from her hands into a pool of eternal reflections. Every panel of her gown is hand embroidered with tiny crystals and glass seed beads. Hundreds of cut glass crystals drape from her shoulders. She is the largest faery I've sculpted yet at 1/8th scale (I usually sculpt in about 1/12th to 1/10th scale - between a 6 and 7 inch tall faery. Shaelin would appear to be about 9 inches tall if she weren't kneeling.) Her gown is a mixture of silk, velvet and a hefty dose of bead embroidery (sewing beads on one by one and setting cabochons into beads.) Shell, Swarovski, metal, glass - you name it, it's on her gown! Her base is bass wood and preserved moss.
